Ed Kurtz, President   

 

 

  Established in 1989
     Ed Kurtz, the creative principal of Design Group Architects Ltd., has led the firm since 1989.  DGA bases their four-state operation from the heart of the Ozarks, in Bolivar, Missouri.

   Background
       Pursuing an interest in architectural drawing, Ed obtained a degree in Architectural Drafting Technology from the University of Central Missouri in 1978.   With a desire to do more with his drafting experience, Ed received a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University in 1983. After working for two of the top architectural firms in the Midwest, he earned his license to practice architecture in 1994 from the State of Kansas.

 Today, with architectural certification in four states, he continues to commit his professional involvement to the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

  Clients
    
Ed has acute skills in leading design teams including projects for retail, healthcare, hospitality, foodservice, and high-touch residential clients. Clients include Citizens Memorial Healthcare and Foundation, Pizza Hut, Dillions Foodstores, Super 8 Hotels plus numerous distinguished land developers and home builders in the Midwest. Many loyal repeat and referral clients have resulted in cherished relationships since the inception of his business.

 Karen Kurtz, Vice-President

 

 

   Background
       Originally from Southwest Kansas with an education from Neosho County Community College and Wichita State, Karen understands success only comes to those who decide to commit to the fruition of an idea. Her caring relationship with our many clients is vital to the continued vibrancy of DGA.   

   Perspective
       Karen has been the sounding board for DGA since the beginning. Her ability to calmly evaluate distinctive designs or address the next rising office issue, lends   credibility and calm to the office environment.

   Customer and Employee Care
        Karen’s capable skills in developing and communicating policies for employee care have led to a committed team approach in our office. As the co-director at DGA, Karen is a guiding force in the strong company DGA has become today. Her ability to carefully consider options and evaluate opportunities has led to positive and sustained growth.
